Voice over app: Bookshelf

BookShelfWhat?! An eBook reader? What’s so great about an eBook reader? Well, how about one that scrolls vertically like reading a document instead of one that you flick through like a book? Bookshelf does just that. In addition, you can set it to automatically scroll through the eBook at a reading pace that is comfortable for you. It really is great for doing long-form narration.

I love this app because it allows me to actually see what’s ahead. If you use a traditional eBook or PDF reader then you have to flick constantly to turn the virtual pages; never knowing what’s ahead. This makes it a challenge to keep your reading smooth. But Bookshelf is the perfect solution for any long-form narration recording or practice.

It can easily read these formats: Plain text, HTML, Plucker, PalmDoc, Mobi, ePub, RTF, MS-Word DOC, and PDF. Of course, you can fully customize the fonts, colors, size, etc. Within the app itself you can even connect to many free eBook sites and download them directly into the app.

There is a free version of this app, but it has annoying ads and won’t show full images. Believe me, the full version is worth the small price.
